The Wimbledon Grand Slam is in full swing this week, and this Saturday the public will be treated to a duel between German player Laura Siegemund and American player Madison Keys in one of the first-round 16 matches.

Laura Siegemund hadn't shone on grass this season before arriving in the capital. Indeed, although she emerged victorious from the qualifying rounds at the Nottingham tournament, she subsequently lost in the first round to Slovakia's Rebecca Sramkova. Having won just 4 games in total in her duel with Victoria Azarenka (87th in the world) in the first round at Bad Homburg, she wasn't exactly a favorite in her duels when she arrived here.

Madison Keys, meanwhile, has already put in a fine performance at the London tournament, reaching the semi-finals. The Australian Open winner won her quarter-final against top 15 Diana Shnaider before losing to the surprising Tatjana Maria. With her wealth of Grand Slam experience, the American should have no difficulty in reaching the 3rd round of this tournament once again, having already reached the last eight five times in front of the British public, and two quarter-finals in 2015 and 2023.
